RE: {Chrysler 300} distributor caps/ rotors , two heights

The only time I have encountered a distributor cross/miss firing problem was on a slant six and the problem was a cracked cap. Hardly a design problem. I really don't know why you are looking for solutions to problems that are uncommon? Just buy the right parts and be done with it.

You should watch the latest video from Nick's Garage if you want to see what cross firing looks like and how to fix it. Unfortunately, you have to watch to the end. I personally found it painful to watch as I have no time for these dodgy aftermarket fuel injection systems that create more problems than they supposedly fix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwXlIAwVQ1s

hi there are insulating ribs up under the tall ones ( look in) and if I remember tight they cut the round stationary pin away more , so radius of tip may be more As i say , why change it unless an issue idealistic image of the tip under contact is not true due to advance , particularly when both advances are in . Try and figure out that angke it moves , I did.
see ford late caps, an inch more diameter . Kits out there to use that on GM — All this not done for “ the hell of it” laugh People blamed wires for cross firing , especially under hemi wire covers . As EE I think that is bs . It was the cap not aligned carefully st both extremes . imho
