I can't remember if some of the intake bolts go into cooling passages. It wasn't too hard getting the rams off mine when I had to replace a bent push rod. The car didn't have too many miles on it after the engine was redone in the 90s so I didn't have any struggles with bolts.

Just to tag on an earlier post, I’m getting ready to perform a task that I’m not really looking forward to and that is removing the cross ram intake on my 300F. The shop manual says to drain the cooling system. My question is, why would I need to do that? I’m not removing the heads. If I can save a step, that would be great.
