Am I misssing something here? Why use a clip mount or screw as a reference when doing a simple swap from one distributor to another? Note which plug wire stand the rotor is at on and which cylinder it’s feeding on the one you’re removing, install the new distributor
and clock it where it fits best, then install the plug wires based on where the rotor on the new one is pointing.
