{Chrysler 300} 1962 Expansion Valve

I aim to do restoration work on the Air Conditioning.

I wish to check the Expansion Valve for leaks and/or test it.

How simple or hellacious is it to remove the Expansion Valve from its fiberglass firewall housing?
