{Chrysler 300} Temperature sender on 63

I replaced the temp. sender on my 63 383 non letter because it quit working. Saw it was reading high. Found and read Carl Bilter's excellent explanation and fix on the club site.  He states that 180 temp should be at or near the first operating temp mark on the gauge. My question is:what should the temp be in the upper operating range of the gauge? Last safe mark? Oh, and thank you Carl for a great explanation!
