Re: {Chrysler 300} Next big project

This might be a resource to obtain the carpeting. I had conversed with them a couple of years ago. They claimed they had the patterns for my 64 K. You can send in your old carpets for a pattern as well. They may do sewn and not molded, though. Worth a call!

The carpet in my G convertible was not really worn, but faded by over half a century of sun, so I went to an auto parts store that specializes in paint and body supplies and got a can of black spray 'paint' that is designed for carpets and I really like the results.  Some judges at a recent show seemed to like it, too, as I was given the award for 'best interior', I think partly because of my new repro sill plates and the carpet that looks new.   Also a much easier job to mask and spray than to tear out the old carpet and wrestle new into place.  Swivel seats made it easier to get the sides of the console as well.  Might be worth a try on your F carpet as long as it's not worn out badly.

If you're taking about the aluminum heel plates with the rubber squares, repros are available.

As Noel says, the correct carpet is not available.

Here are pictures of the correct carpet and the fuzz that is sold by everyone.

I need the correct carpet for two 1960 wagons that use the same.

Jay,

What Dave Mihalko at Quirey just posted is correct. But note that our 300-Fs had a unique 1-year only carpet style. As a Club, some members have explored having mills reproduce this carpet but, because it'd be such a relatively small run, no company has considered doing this. So unless you're satisfied installing a '61 300-G style black carpet, you're out of luck. It's your call.

Regarding the anodized aluminum car floor carpet hold-down strips and the strips that run alongside your console's top, You'll need to have yours re-anodized. These are not being reproduced, nor is the ribbed console-top filler 2-piece section.

Hello all,

I finished installing my new dash today in my F. Thanks to all that assisted and for your support. Pictures of the finished job are attached.Jay,
Now it’s time for the next big project. I would like to replace my carpet. Wondering how difficult job it is. Hopefully not as bad as the dash I just finished. Also, what are people doing with their anodized foot rest? I’m assuming they are not available for purchase? Finally, is there a source out there for precut and formed carpets for the F? Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Thank you
