RE: {Chrysler 300} 300F EPR valve

I assume you vacuumed the system down to 29.9 hg and it held, and you charged into the vacuum with high and low side gauges on it. What are the pressures you had when it blew cold and what were they when it went warm? Pressure readings are really all we have to go on with mechanical refrigeration diagnosis.

Subject: {Chrysler 300} 300F EPR valve

I am trying to get my air conditioning functioning in my 300F that I bought in April. I was told the system was restored but never charged during the car’s restoration about 20 years ago. We tried charging it with R12 got cold air for about 20 minutes then it went warm. We inspected all fittings with a leak detector and believe it is a tight system. We are thinking it’s a bad epr valve. My car appears to have the original 1960 compressor with the external oil line. I think this was a 1 year only compressor. It also has a 1 year only epr valve assembly. Does anyone have an epr valve for a 1960 compressor? Or could a 1961 and later valve be fitted to my compressor?

Thanks,
Brent Yarnell
