So, in the true spirit of camaraderie, I would like to add to those recommendations. Remember, it is very important for the long term life of your tires to change the Summer air to Winter air. We don't need any frozen air molecules in our tires now, do we??? : - ) Tom Harkins 300s4ever ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Sun, 21 Oct 2001 11:23:23 EDT From: pennsy300@xxxxxxx Subject: Winter Storage If is is advisable to put winter air in the tires before storage, does this mean that we have to wait until winter before putting the car up? I usually start storage right after Thanksgiving, so that would be Fall Air. Does anyone know where I might buy a container of Winter Air? ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 3 Date: Sun, 21 Oct 2001 10:48:25 -0500 From: "terry & Andree Hoeman" <tehoema@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: Winter Storage sounds like people must have read the winter storage guidelines in Old Cars latest issue. Man can they get carried away. Remove brake drums and put layer of grease on them to stop corrosion???????? I own a black 300G with an 888 option. Although I have allot of history on this vehicle, I do need some clarification on something. The car has wire wheels, which also appear on the original bill of sale from the dealer. Was this a factory option or perhaps a dealer installed option? Anyone? Also I am in need of new tires but an concerned about the poor riding quality of bias plys, any suggestions? Finally, my trans was recently rebuilt, is it normal for this trans to knock slightly when it first goes into gear? Thanks everyone.
