All:

I seem to remember that this club reproduced the "football shaped" air
cleaners for the inline, dual four barrel carburetor set-ups. Is my memory
right? Are they still available? How can they be ordered? Any help
appreciated!

Jim Helm

Don't know what to buy that 300 nut on your list? Here's a suggestion:

Hurry in to your neighborhood Cracker Barrel Restaurant and find the
Nostalgia Tree. They are usually on the right in the middle of the wall
as
you come in the doors. You will find an assortment of pretty nice
automotive ornaments such as a 2-seat T-Bird, a Cadillac, Buick,
Oldsmobile,
Pontiac, Chevy, Ford pick up and ~~~ oh, did I mention the 1959 Chrysler
300E convertible? They come in silver, navy and red. Bob says the paint
even has orange peel just like from the factory. They are pretty well
done
although the silver and red ones have red interiors and they are single
exhaust. Well, you can't expect everything for a few pennies!

Have fun searching the tree and Happy Holidays to all 300s (and their
assorted nutty owners)!

Bob and Elizabeth Wieland

Subject: Rustoration Links - everything on metal-working

Sorry for the junkmail, but I found a wonderful website collection that
covers everything from do-it-youself anodizing to hammer welding
techniques.

Thought it might be of interest to other recovering Bondo addicts who,
like myself can't afford an in-house bodyman.

One or two of the links aren't connecting, but the Metalworking FAQ and
others are fabulously informative.

Subject: Christmas Cars

My darling wife made me a car Christmas Tree!

At our local Cracker Barrel she found several die cast model ornaments
including '59 Chrysler 300E convertibles and by taking home both colors
and
a few of the other cars ('55 Olds Cv, '54 Ford PU, '59 Cad Cv, '56 T-Bird
Cv, '55 Buick Cv) and adding our pre-owned Hallmark '57 Dodge PU and '55
Nomad in the same scale, a car tree was created.

They are all intended as Christmas tree ornaments. The '59 Chrysler 300E
Cv
comes in either candy red with red interior or silver with red interior.
The Cracker Barrel cars are all die-cast, made in China, and have a tag
"Die-Cast Collectible from EJ Enterprises". The Hallmark cars are
probably
ABS or similar plastic. At 4.5" long, all are comparable in scale.

The 300Es have nice detail including the hood ('CHRYSLER' only) and trunk
letters and red/white/blue plastic medallions on the rear quarters and
trunk
lid.

If you find any other colors for the 300E, please report!

Wayne Graefen
