Specially you guys in the Chicago area. Next Sunday is the Chicagoland
Mopar/Koller Dodge show in Naperville Illinois. Bring that 'Big Brute' of
yours out and show it off.
Here's the skinny:
May 19 -- <A HREF="" href="http://www.chicagolandmopar.com/car_event.asp">http://www.chicagolandmopar.com/car_event.asp">Chicagoland Mopar Connection</A>, in conjunction with Koller Dodge in
Naperville Ill. presents the annual 'Mo-Power Madness' car show and swap
meet! This show kicks off the season for us in the Chicago area.
The show will be at Naperville North High School ..... Route 34 and Mill
Street in Naperville. Registration is 9:00 - 11:45 am, with swap area setup
at 7:00 am. Trophy presentation will be at 3:00 pm.
This is an all Mopar show with food concessions and a DJ all day long. We
always have several hundred cars showing, but would love to see more of the
300 Group's vehicles there.
Naperville is West, Southwest of the city, and easily accessible from the
East-West Expressway .... I 88.

I've put a modern radio/tape/cd player in my '57 but not in the
glove box : not deep enough or i must cut the rear of the
glovebox ..

The modern radio has a wireless remote control ..
The original "tubes" radio works very well (i repaired it some
years ago..) and i've used a 1 input - 2 output TV antenna
splitter to connect the antenna to the two radios. And that works
!!

I need to re-seal a leaking rear window ..one of the cars I am working on......any suggestions?????....does a guy have to take the rear window completely out and redo it ..... this is just one small area (upper passenger side) that leaks when it is washed or when it sits in the rain.....Rusty in Oregon.....??????????????

Tom,
Buy a polytarp about 12X24. Place on the spot where storing car. Drive car
ONTO the tarp. Cover car with breathable cotton cover. Spread mothballs
around perimeter of car. Cover exhausts with tin foil and secure with rubber
bands. Bring sides of polytarp up and use twine to tie the tarp crisscrossing
over car (not too tight). Sprinkle more moth balls around the edges of the
tarp as another line of defense. Car will breath and critters can only
enter by eating a hole through the smell of mothballs. (Also keeps ground
moisture from coming up under cars body. ) Don't forget to have taken
battery out and hook up to battery saver that costs about $60 but well worth
it over time. (not trickle charger).
I've stored 2 cars (not old chryslers) this way in dry dirt floor with
concrete walls old chicken houses without a critter yet.

Amazing--- just Amazing. This was the first meet I attended as being a new member of the club. Don Verity did a fabulous job hosting this fantastic event. This was a tough job coordinating an event like this and Don Verity deserves unlimited respect for his performance!! I would also like to personally thank John Hertog for the "large ear" as I was bending it so much for the information that he graciously gave me all weekend. Also Gloria Moon, who was so busy all weekend, she now needs a week to relax after the hectic time she had helping Don. Without a doubt, Hats off to this group who outdone themselves to bring a good time to the club members who attended the Rhode Island Meet. I'm proud to be a member of the Chrysler 300 Club Int. Inc.

I had a great time seeing everyone in R.I. Don did a great job.
I did,however, lose my small camera bag and was wondering if anyone may
have picked it up. It is blue and black canvas with a velcro cover.

I can support John's method..works for me. I use 6 mil poly from Home Depot.
I also use about 15 alligator clamps from the hardware department to secure
it to the cotton car cover. I quit using mothballs a few years ago and
haven't noticed the difference. The mice never seem to chew through the
plastic. I have even found d-con stored under the plastic but not inside. By
following this method you can enjoy your car through the winter by just
lowering the plastic and retieing it when finished. This is a very
inexpensive method.

I'm in the process of getting new rear leaf springs for my 300F through the
club, and would like to change the shocks at the same time. I've heard good
things about KYB shocks, and have a PST catalog, but don't know which shocks
I should order. Also, are there any special modifications I would have to
make to get them to fit?

I am sorry for not making the meet as I had planned to. I had been
looking forward to this for over two years and missed it due to engine
problems in my "K" and stubbornness that I wasn't going without her (the
"K", that is.)
But hindsight tells me I should have gone at least for Saturday. My 17
year old son was helping me work on the engine and we were a team. Don't
seem to get that too often, and he picks up on this very easy, so I gave
up on something for myself in order to build up a stronger relationship
with him.
I will make another, even if I have to fly to get there.
Next weekend (5/17 - 5/19) I will be at Englishtown, NJ for the Matco
Tools SuperNationals. Ah, the smell of Nitro in the morning...
Hope all who attended arrived to/from safely and without incident!!

I'd change one thing: Put a tin can over the exhaust and secure with solid
mechanic's wire. On May 10th I flew to Atlanta to attend the funeral of
an elderly uncle. While staying at my aunt's house I rewired a ceiling
fan for my aunt in Georgia that didn't work. Upon investigation in the
attic, I found that the mice had chewed the wires through, removing as
much as 4 inches of the aluminum strands. The dummy who originally put in
the fan did not put a cover plate on the junction box, thereby giving the
little booger's a place to play.

I would once again like to thank everyone for coming to Rhode Island for the spring meet. Whether you brought your car (which there were a lot that did) or came without, I heard nothing but good things about the experience! In the end, it's the club members that made the meet a success!
I would like to ask you again to send in a story about your experience at the meet to Andy Mikonis so it can be published in the Club News. It doesn't have to be long. I'll be sending in my own report, but everyone did so many different things that I could not cover it all. It would be my perspective alone, and a lot of small stories from you people that were there will give a much better accounting of the meet. If there is a good response, maybe I'll consider doing it again!!
