Subject: Small Transmission brackets for G

God Morning,

I am in the process of attaching the transmission to the engine for my
G. I failed to take pictures of the placement of 2 small backets the go
on attaching bolts around the transmission.

The first is a "Z" shaped bracket (with 90 degree angles) that I
believe goes on the the engine block to bellhousing, next to the
starter. I think this must hold a retrun spring for the kickdown? Is
this placement correct?

The next is a "U" shaped clip that goes on one of the 4 mounting bolts
that holds the transmission to the bellhousing. Does this go on the
Upper Left hand side? I assume it is to contain the neutral safety
switch wire and or Shift cable?

I'm sure as the assembly continues, this will become more apprent, I
was just hoping to avaid dissasembling anything once the driveline is
installed.

Best regards,

Richard Osborne

Hi to all,

The long and the short of it is that there will be another 2-3 week wait.

This is a reply to Paul Martin's e-mail message below but the info is for
everyone on the, now closed, list for the 235/75/R14 radial tires:

The first 10 - 2 1/2" WWW test tires came in last Friday. They are
shipping
them to me today. Based on the sample tires, they have approved the
manufacture of the tires from the factory. The tires should be made and
delivered to Coker for shipping to you all within 2-3 weeks. This is from
the proverbial horse's mouth and not the other end.

The problem is that the factory made the 1" WW tires first. That is right,
they have the 235/75R14 tires in a 1" WW for '70's and other cars that
require a large 14" tire. They have already started shipping.

Coker always has 10 tires made first for testing and approval before they
commit to a large buy from the factory. That approval has been given.
