Subject: Leaky Torqueflite
A grizzled old-timer, who owned a 300D convert while I was still in
college,
said his experience showed that a pint or so of brake fluid poured into
the
transmission would "soften and expand" the front seal, where mine appears
to be
leaking, with no other ill effects on the transmission. Any thoughts out
there on this suggested "fix?" McTaggart

On second thought I think it was a vinyl dye [not paint] I got from a flea
market-- Barrie Automotive
flea market--biggest in Canada. Of course a new replacement is best.-
Depends on the shape of the
old one. I have a 64 300 sport--roman red, now painted royal red met.
-richer more metallic.
Close match though- didn't have to paint under trunk lid, where I didn't
need to!
