Subject: Re: High Speed Starters For Chrysler 300s '55-'65
Hi Tim,
This is a response to your request for OE#s for our Chrysler 300s:
1955: 1527689
1956: 1642140
1957/58 : 1842562
1959 thru 61: 1889200
There also was a #1604 480 suggested for 1955. Wonder if this was a 6V/12V
issue.
Our understanding is that Road Runner Starters does manufacture high speed
starter alternatives for our vehicles. Please "reply all" to this e-mail. I
am asking Owen Grigg to post your reply to the Chrysler 300 list server
since I will be out of town and going to the Auto Fair in Charlotte NC until
Sept. 16th.
Please quote the specs and all available information for the respective high
speed starters and include terms and conditions, pricing, warranty info and
availability for your high speed starter replacements. You may also consider
listing your offerings for '62-'65 even though these are more readily
available.
Since there are so many members that may take advantage of your services, we
ask that you work on a special pricing list for members of the Chrysler 300
Club, Int.
Thank you, in advance,
Tony Rinaldi

A chevy guy passed this link along to me...Its a pretty nifty collection of on-line tools for computing speed / torque / displacement / etc.
Maybe valuable when driving through speed traps without a functioning speedo....

This is McTaggart. Is there anyone out there who participated in the Dayton
dragstrip activities that would be willing to volunteer to put together a
brief newsletter writeup of this event? Including, if possible, the names and
cars of those who ran ther cars and their times? Let me know , OK? Thanks

This information lifted directly from my Autolite service parts catalog
covering 1946 to 1957
1955 autolite # MCL-6304 6V C67, C68, C69
1955 autolite # MDC-6301 12V C70
1956 autolite # MDF-6001 12V all models
1957 autolite # MDL-6001 12V C75, C76 (includes 300's)
the catalog does show some 12V parts starting in 1953
The Original 6V field coil package was Autolite # 20-23
the same from 1946 to 1955

Hi all
Below is Tim's reply. I have forwarded on the Autolite #'s supplied by Paul
Holmgren to help identify the starters. If anyone on the list has the #'s
tagged/stamped ON the '59-'61 starter could they send them to me as I'm
sure in my pile of starters I have one. I would then send it down to Tim,
which would mean he'd have samples covering at least '56 w/TF thru '61.
Thanks
Owen

After another month(actually longer) and several phone calls(left
messages,calls never returned)and e-mails(never returned) I,ll just say "I
lose".KEVIN ADAMS ripped me off! I asked for help with my 300 from the club,
dealt with three different members; one sent me an astrodome instument
cluster that was'nt as described, one member I did some trading with(trades
were okay) then I gave him a pair of early big block heads(shipped them
pronto so that he could make a show) and waited for the money I was out for
shipping for about two months, never did get the full amount and we all know
the Kevin Adams story.I,m really upset with the outcome of my dealings with
the members, am not feeling good about the project. Will put the car up for
sale on e-bay tomorrow. Also the parts from Kevin Adams(who ripped me off and
should be brought up on charges).I guess I should stick to all the other
mopars (I love them and have been restoring them for thirty years) and you
guys can have the 300's.Good luck, larri.
