Both are Carter rebuildable types. Numbers are MO-1053 and 2503-SA on one of them and the other has M-106 and M2414 SA on it. Any one have any idea what these may fit or know someone with books that may help. I tried the vendor cross reference lists in the rear of the parts books to no avail. The 3478S is listed as TC-1 Police and TC-2 High Performance. (Assume both have 413) The 3256S is listed as TC-3 and TY-1 (New Yorker or Imperial with 413) I am thinking of putting this carb on my 383 (formerly 2BBL.) and I assume the 3256S would be better because it is probably set up to run with a normal 413 cam. The 3478S may have been used with a "hot cam"? Am I correct that the 3478S would possibly be "too much carburetor" for the stock 383 cam? Or would either carb do the job? Thanks- Mark Lindahl '63 300 Conv. Comes with lots of extra parts so may not be able to get a hauler to bring car and parts without problems, extra costs, etc. So thinking of heading back myself with my trailer hooked up to my trusty Durango(5.9 V-8 set up for trailer towing, have done this several times). Anyone out there need a car hauled from the West Coast to Chicago area or along the way?? Will be going starting on the 9th or 10th of December. Planning on taking 80 east but if weather forecasts are bad, will take a southerly route down to Bakersfield and across to Albuquerque and then heading up to St. Louis into Illinois. Cost would be to cover my expenses on the trip east. Let me know. If I get a firm response, probably will help in my decision to do this myself rather than hire an enclosed carrier to bring my car back to its new home.
