My mom has @150K on her '99 from new. She loves it,
but it's starting to get expensive to own. I try not
to get too involved, but her higher out of warranty
repairs included a transmission computer, and more
recently a fuel pump and CV axles - all at the same
time her second set of Goodyears started to self
destruct ( yep, she had about 80K on them! ) So now
she has some new Michelins, and has recovered from the
recent expenses. She wasn't real happy when I looked
up the blue book and it was $7700. The car still
looks great, the mechanics are always surprised at the
mileage...

We might as well jump in here too. 02 300M
Special-we've had this one 15 months. picked it up
with 12,000 miles on it and it now has 30,000. So
far, no problems whatsoever. If there is a complaint
it would be that the Special comes with 18" Michelin
Pilots. These were not meant for snow country and we
couldn't find any all-season 18"s. This required
obtaining a set of after-market 17" wheels and a set
of all-season 17" tires for the winter months. We now
have probably 6 years worth of rubber. I guess a
small price to pay for a real neat car, we love it.

Tom,
A common cause of a stumble when opening the throttle is a bad accelerator
pump. This pump is located in the left front corner of an AFB and provides a
squirt of raw fuel into the primary carb throats when the throttle is
opened. This covers a flat spot (lean condition) that occurs upon throttle
opening during the time the idle circuit ceases to function and the main
circuit begins to function. The pump is a piston affair that will come with
the lid of the AFB when you remove it. The piston has a leather seal at the
bottom end and goes down into a well in the main casting. If this leather is
cracked, torn, or simply hardened with age. or perhaps crimped or turned up
when the carb was reassembled the pump does not deliver adequate fuel to
cover the lean condition and the engine will stumble on acceleration.

Take the air cleaner off and manually crack the throttle full open (ENGINE
OFF!). Two strong jets of fuel should squirt from a double nozzle located
between the front throats. If the stream is spotty, bubbly, or inconsistent,
replace the pump.

Johnny.....
According to my '61 parts book, all '61' MoPars with dual carbs, (ie)
ram induction, had the same AFB's, which were 2903-S, same as 1960.

Hi folks......hoping that someone can ID a new FILKO vacuum chamber I have. It is Filko VC-44X, and I hope it is a replacement for # 2084868, which is the MoPar # for the original on a 300F, and G.
              Thanks in advance.......

When this 61 ply. was fairly new, driver was running from police and ran
into tree ,tearing up this car.His buddy took off manifolds, carbs, air
cleaners, ect.HE has had this stuff in his mothers garage ever since.HE
says that its been covered with four or so feet of junk for years.I am
pretty sure it's a factory 61 package.HE also has a 58 392,a regular
engine along with the bus hemi.Someone give me a ballpark figure on what
this used 61stuff would be worth as he wants me to buy everything.

This is to the director in the 300 club that is the transmission expert. On
the 55 powerflite trans on 300s is the valve body the same as the other
powerflites I think I read some where that they had different part numbers so that
means they would be different, port drilling, spring pressure ball size etc.Lenny
NY PS I think it would be nice if everyone put their state down after their
question or answer THANKS
