I am able to make the points open when applying power, but can't seem to figure out how to make them close. The mechanism appears to be free in movement. Am I missing something? I am kind of on a roll with the reassembly of the car, and am too impatient to wait for a professional. Thanks, Richard Osborne ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Sun, 7 Mar 2004 10:21:57 -0800 From: "Bob Jasinski" <rpjasin@xxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: RE: 1961 Clock Richard, Anything you do to that clock as a quick fix will just cause you to pull it again and do it right later on. Your best bet is to let a professional clean and repair it, or better yet, convert it to a quartz movement. I had Instrument Services in Wisconsin do mine, and it keeps perfect time. One thing I've learned over the years is to not rush a restoration. You will always end up having to do things twice (or 3 times) over. These would be important considerations to me, since the updates would not affect the original feel of the car. Andy Mikonis in Chicago __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! The second hand does not move in quick jerks, i.e.; a dead stop and then move again, but it does have a pulsation to it, not a smooth sweep. I know my G never had one (it is a late build G). The F is the only one, (of the F-G-H group) I have noticed having it. I would check with Gary Goers on the clip. I'm not certain on the flashers, as some states required them prior to it being a federal mandate.
