I put seatbelts in my 62 300 Sport Convertible just the other year. I
purchased my black seat belts with chrome buckles from Eastwood. They are
less than 1/2 mile from my home so I just went there and bought them. The
price was about $20.00 per set.

I believe that all the 1962 Chryslers have pre-tapped holes for seat belt
installation. I know mine did. For extra safety I installed the bolts in the
pre-tapped holes and put lock washers and nuts on the other side. This was
probably a little overkill but the bolts were just hanging out the bottom
side and long enough to allow me to do this.

If I remember correctly, someone told me that the 1962 Chrysler 300H was the
first American production automobile with factory installed seatbelts.

Hi all, I am wanting to install seatbelts on my 1962 Newport. I would like

know the best source and method for installation. Are there pre-tapped holes
in the rear floorboards for mounting them? I do not need original style
belts.
I would want red ones to match the car though. Are these available at
