[Chrysler300] Re Hot August Nights + more

Hi All

I can give some info re: Hot August Nights, (HAN) that Larry may not be
familiar with. I have lived in Reno, (now Tahoe) for near 10 years. I have
registered for HAN 9 years straight w/ my Hemi powered street Roadster.
Just completed # 9, 2 weeks ago.
Everybody should see HAN at least one time in there life. HAN dates for '
05 starts July 30th and culminates w/ a 2 hr parade on Sunday August 7. A
site to see. HAN ' 05 registration is sold out. They now stop at 5,000
entrees, (cars) and more than that come into town unregistered just to
cruse around and enjoy cars. That adds a few 100,000 people to the Biggest
Little City In the World.
The registered cars stop into the early 70's. You will see Old, Classics,
Customs, Lots of Street Rods, And an amalgamation of anything you can think
of. There are some of the most beautiful restorations you will ever see.

ANYBODY considering a visit during HAN must make room reservations NOW. I
went to visitreno and 5 hotels are sold out for those dates. I did see
several others $69 to $139 still available, (maybe). The Pepper Mill hotel
Casino, (our favorite watering hole and a classy place sold out rooms
August 1-3 at $59, 4-6 $237 night. That's what happens as the demand is so
high for rooms.

The drive from down town Reno to South Lake Tahoe is a nice drive taking
395 to Carson City past our State Capitol to hwy 50. 50 takes you up the
mountain to South Shore Tahoe. Reno is 4400' and the lake around
6300'. Will take just over an hour drive.

As another option at the south end of Reno, (30 seconds from my
office/warehouse) is the Marriott Residence Inn and next to it an Extended
Stay America. These may be over looked by the masses and only 15 to 20 min.
from down town Reno and that much less time to South Lake. They both have
Reno addresses on Gateway Dr. 89521.

As far as quality and price. The lower you pay the lower you get.

A few tidbits.

Visit www.hotaugustnights.net for more info on HAN.

Reno temperature in August will run high 80's to high 90's with low 90's
the norm. Sometimes over 100. Very dry so tolerable.

Lake temperatures will run 15 to 20 deg. lower. Is that nice.

Lake Tahoe is the 3rd largest fresh water lake in the world. It is over 12
mi. wide and over 20 mi. long and 1600' deep.

A 70 mile loop around the lake will provide some of the most awesome
scenery you will ever see. I recommend to Larry that should be a day trip
for the club. Several scenic pullouts and many eateries on the water.

Please leave deposits at you favorite casinos. This alleviates state income
tax for me. Thank you.

Gary
