Fern: There are few sources for 413 pistons. I got my 30 over pistons from Federal-Mogul. They are stock flat-top cast pistons as we were unable to locate any off-the-shelf source for higher quality pistons. There are many modern after-market camshaft possibilities. You should look for a "single-bolt" cam to fit an RB block. Also a "three-bolt" cam can work too but you have to change a timing chain sprocket. A huge selection of three bolt cams are available. I am using a Comp Cams Xtreme Energy hydraulic 262/272 single-bolt cam which has awesome mid-range power 3000-4000 rpm. Even though its a smallish cam, I find the low-end torque a little weak, probably due to its 110 degree lobe separation. If I was going to change cams, I'd go with a smallish roller cam with 112 degree lobe separation; these are available from Crane in the three-bolt style. But if you have a manual transmission, I'd highly recommend the same Xtreme Energy cam I'm running on my automatic. Does anyone have a set for sale or what is a good source to get them from? Also, what to do with the cam and solid lifters, should I be getting the cam reground and where? Also is there is newer more modern replacement available for this now?
