Re: [Chrysler300] Fw: 300's HEMI Powered vehicles

Marv:
One thing that I have learned in my later years(since I was about 18) is that if the media is extolling the virtues of anything, this is often a fairly good indication that there are no virtues of said point, position or person(witness a certain Presidential Candidate who seems to be the media's current darling). Again I do not believe that the "new" hemi meets the definition of a hemi as defined by Chrysler in their early engines(and of course those of the 60's). But what the heck it makes for selling a lot of cars and trucks. 60 minutes sells a lot of advertising also.

Does that fact that Chrysler calls their new V8 a hemi(ala early 50's thru
1958), make it so? Inquiring minds want to know!

Roger, Yes it does! First of all DaimlerChrysler demonstrated the principles of the Hemispherical combustion chamber and the inherent design characteristics of the new family of Hemi engines. Satisfied with the explanation and the demonstration, the media is now extolling the virtues of this engine. I think it is called "truth in advertising"!
