When I was racing dirt track, back in the early 60 NASCAR had a rule that no Grand National Car could run a tire that was more than 90 days old from manufacture.Seams that the molecules that are moving in the rubber slow down or stop after that time, and the tire starts getting hard! It was great for the little guys because they could pick up the old ones cheep and run them on the short tracks. If you want extreme tread wear get a old tire that is been sitting out in a field for years. You wont have any traction, but you wont wear out the tread. In the rain you can learn how to drive at a much lower speed.Jim McMullan 300 F (on blocks) Calif James McMullan macthehammer@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Why Wait?
