Now if you want to see serious pedal effort for the clutch try my 57 WM300 Military style Power Wagon!!!! You walk around lopsided after driving it a while!! -----Original Message----- From: Vath, Michael J. The heavy duty 3-spd trans was used in all Chrysler V8 standards in '61 & '62. I've heard rumor it was the same through 64. It might also be the same in V8 Dodges, trucks, etc. I've a '61 Newport ragtop with the factory 3-speed setup installed. Pedal effort it pretty stiff, but not too bad. You will NOT get it into first gear if the car moving even slightly. Makes around-town driving pretty tough - especially with a highway rear-end gear ratio. Plus, the 1-2 shift prone to become a 1-R grinder shift for the occasional driver. I haven't won any races yet.. Whoever ordered a lettercar new with this setup must have been a interesting sort of fellow! -----Original Message----- From: Bob Jasinski [mailto:rpjasin@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, November 14, 2004 1:35 PM To: Chrysler 300 Subject: [Chrysler300] 300G stick Does the 300 Club have a count of the number of 300Gs built with a manual trans? I've only seen one that I can recall and am curious as to how many were built and survive. I seem to remember the 3 speed trans was the same as a Dodge truck, and it was not a full synchromesh unit. Also, I've heard they were hard to drive because of the serious pedal effort required. Any G 3 speed stick owners out there?
