Hi  Tom
Going to the airport may not be a bad idea. A friend who is into
flying tells me that you can approximate Hi Octane leaded gas by mixing
pump gas with aviation gas. Aviation gas is high octane, very high lead
content.
Small private airports will probably sell you some, but get a 55 gallon
drum or something. They don't like to bother with small quantities and
you don't want to go to the airport every tankful.
I have not tried this myself, but I have inquired at a small local
airport and was told they would not object. (Most pilots can appreciate
our cars}

The big problem with airports is that the fuel they sell is not subject to
highway taxes, and is not supposed to be used in highway vehicles. We have a
local airport next to a race track (Wall Stadium) so they will sell you
airplane gas in a jug, but they will not put it in your vehicle. The difference
in price (due to the tax) is over $2.00/gallon. We cvan only get it when the
track is open. It is 105 octane, low lead. There are places around which
sell Cam-2 for about $3.50  - $4.00 per gallon.
