No gas!!!

Hi all

First off I have to tell you this problem is not happening on my 300 letter car, but on my 440 GTX. I figure the list is kinda quiet at the moment and I'm sure that this could just as easily be a letter car problem.......besides it's got me stumped! Anyway here goes....

The problem has only occurred irregularly after a long run, the most recent when I attended a car show and was parking up. The car just cuts out, runs out of gas, wind it over ,nothing at the carbs ( 3x2 Holley's). Pull the fuel line off at the pump, wind it over, nothing. So happens the previous owner of the car comes over, "happened to me a few times too, poor some gas down the centre carb". So do that, starts, runs nice, until the next time that is!
Their seems to be no real pattern to it occurring, apart from the fact it's always happed to me after a reasonably long run, and is back around idle speed. Fuel pump? Air lock? Carb?
Thanks for any help or suggestions, before I start pulling things part, would be greatly appreciated.
Owen
