Oil Slinger

Working on my '62 300's 413.

I acquired a new oil slinger, as the last one was trashed.

The new one I have has a wider cut out for the keyway on the crankshaft.

Is the oil slinger keyway supposed to fit snug, or can it be wider than
the key?
