New 300 and comments thereof

Greetings group-
Yes I tend to agree with the majority here- ugh-lee! And Again a four door...But times have changed. The original concept of the Letter Car was for a special coupe with 300(+) horsepower built in limited numbers. Why was it limited? COST was a major reason, that and the fact the majority of the driving public did not want that kind of car for as many reasons as there are stars in the sky. It took a special type of buyer to get a Lettered 300, Still does!
Look at what brand X is offering- mostly generic uninspired designs for the "general" buying public, which as 300 owners we are not. Then go to Ford- again generic styling but a few twists- the new T-Bird, inspired by the original but not as well done in many ways if you take into account the changes in technology since the original birds. The plastic grille turns many off, the lack of power etc. Many sit on dealers lots unwanted and unsold. Moral of the story for ALL manufactures- If you are going to "re-do" a classic- DO IT RIGHT OR NOT AT ALL! 
Many in our group express their feelings about the new Chrysler-Daimler vehicles etc. and feel we are loosing slowly the Chrysler name, heritage etc. From first hand experience let me say that all is not Peachy at the Blue Oval either. Bill Ford is trying to clean up quite a mess that Nasser (sp) left behind and it affects all of the employees at Ford- One of which is my Bride. Yes she works for Ford (not at a dealership either) and has lost her bonus for last year, a very small one this year, even though she works for the number one rated office in the country in her division. So as you can see we(300 people) are not the only ones who's car company is changing and having troubles.
We both love our Letter cars, and our 300 M as our driver. And it really galls Kelly's boss that we drive Chryslers when we can get Fords at a real deal. But as she told him-"Until Ford builds anything even close in looks, comfort and performance we will drive Chryslers" .(I suspect that she won't be rising up the corporate ladder far...!)
Many do not know what our cars are- might be that too many are hidden all the time and even when we have them out ask yourself one question- When was the last time you(or we) spent time trying to get to know young people at shows (not 300 Meets)etc. and be a mentor? I am not going to be on this Earth forever and do not have any children to pass my love for cars in general to. I talk to the younger people at shows, express my interest in their cars and make them feel a part of the hobby. In turn many have stopped at our K and asked questions- it makes it fun and gives all of us(I really love to "brag" about the letter cars) a chance to pass the torch so to speak.
