Warning: To be able to buy Dinner, Ya gotta' be there! Be very careful working with power window regulators, they are spring loaded, and very powerful. I have a dent in my forehead from my "L" regulator which unloaded in my hands. Yea, that's why I'm the way I am, save your e-mail remarks! I knew better, haveing worked on them for years and very aware of the potential, but got a little careless (and a few beers didn't help). Fortunatly, I was holding the reg in my hand when I took off the motor. That arm shot up into my forehead and the reg spun out of my hand. If it had been locked in a vice and culdn't fly away to use up the energy in that spring, I'd be dead. There is usually a hole in the reg body or the arm. Install a bolt in one or both as a safety to prevent the spring from unloading all the way. What holds the spring loaded arm in position is the motor, and when you take off the 3 bolts holding the motor on and pull the motor off the reg, BAM!! I also use serious vicegrips clamped onto the reg body until I can devote all my attn to easing off the pressure. If any of the above isn't clear, please ask, as it is very dangerious to your careless self.
