Hi Group:
Just got home from the annual Atlantic City Classic Car Show and Auction.
Only 300 offered or sold was a nice '62 sport which went for $20,000.00.
While there, however, I ran across a service which you might find useful,
if you are looking to buy a car somewhere far from where you live. The
company is called "Buyer Services International, LLC," and they are headquartered
in Hartford, CT. Their website is at www.BuyerServicesInternational.com These
guys will inspect a car anywhere in the country for a set fee around $400.00
with six page report involving 100 questions and a dozen photographs of the
car. It could cost more if the car is really out in the boonies, as there is a
mileage charge for anywhere more than a 25 mile radius from one of their local
offices.
They also have another service, called "Hi Bid" www.Hi-Bid.com which
will track auction results at the push of a button. The cost is $30.00 per
year, and you can find the value of your car by auction (Barrett-Jackson versus
Kruse), by high price, by low price, or by almost any standard you wish. You
can also see auction results by make, model, price, or a variety of other
standards. This looks like a cheap way to keep abreast of what your cars are worth
in the auction market, and to let you know what is out there and for how much.
Just a thought in case y'all might be interested.
