To all of you who have responded to me about this.... Thank you very much! You have all allowed me to feel much less foolish for dropping a nut into the hole which will not be seen again until I pull the motor apart again! I am extremely happy that we are a part of this club, as you are all incredibly helpful & knowledgeable! I only hope that when I begin the restoration of our '55 Cadillac Eldorado, the Cadillac club is 50% as helpful as you all are! Thank you very much!!!! You could try to flush it out with a blast from an air hose, or bend a hook out of some small gauge wire. Left to my own devices, I would just get another nut to replace it and leave it there, it isn't going anywhere and its presence down in that hole won't cause any problems.
