Hello & happy Wednesday. Is there still a source for starter relays to fit '57's? The relay seems to look very much the same as that on my '61...even looked similar to those on my neighbor's chebby. Our Club site's cool NAPA reference -- and even RockAuto's site doesn't list them. Anybody know what'll work? Many thanks. mv (finally warm in Atl!) -----Original Message----- From: Marshall R Larson [mailto:yelof@xxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, February 23, 2005 2:46 PM To: chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [Chrysler300] Headlight Relay Kits Hi Tom I can't answer any questions about Gregg's products but I am confident that they are as good and probably better than the original harnesses. That being said, I believe that Halogen lights may require more current than the original system was designed to deliver. In any case, they will certainly require more current than the original lights did. The purpose of these relays is to relieve the headlight switch, high beam switch, and the main harness of the high current load that the headlights require. This should reduce the risk of component damage and even fire under the dash. There is a well used adage in the electronics world that all electric circuits run on smoke. If the smoke gets out, the circuit no longer works! The price of one relay kit with circuit breaker is $20 plus $5 for shipping and handling. A second kit in the same shipment would be an additional $20. I have purchased a complete new wiring harness from our member Greg Legget. I asked Greg to configure it for a switchover to an alternator. He did this for me. Because of this new harness, do you think I still need your kit to safely install Halogen headlights? If so, then am I correct in calculating a cost for the 12 volt setup to be $20 plus $5 shipping and handling?
