To my knowledge only Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels were available painted AND chromed. Not Motor Wheel wire wheels. The painted K-Hs were available on Dodge, Plymouth, Hudson, and Kaiser. They were not as popular painted as chromed because if you were buying the option of wire wheels the average consumer wanted the sparkle of chrome rather than dull argent silver paint. At one time I had literature showing the price differential between painted and plated for new Hudsons but sold that literature long ago.
