Re: [Chrysler300] Tires For 300-F

Michael:

The Coker Catalog that came with a recent HMN shows their Coker Classic
Nostalgia Radial in P235/75R14 with 1" or 2.5" WSW as equivalent to
their 900-14 and 950-14 83 series bias tires--also equivalent to
P245/70R14 and J78-14. The OD of the P235/75R14 is 27.87" vs. 28.68"
for the 900-14, so you might lower your car as much as an inch with the
typical radial bulge. Their radial has a greater load carrying capacity
than the 900-14. I did not find a P245/70R15 tire in their catalog for
dimensions.

I have no experience with Coker brand tires, but recall other members'
experience was "spotty" at times. Most commenters to this server
indicate satisfaction with the performance of radials. If you can get
one that has similar strength, ride height and WSW width they should
work fine. There may be some wheel alignment tricks that are
appropriate for radials and I'd recommend the shocks be in first class
shape.

My L78-15 Remington tube-type tires are only 15 years old with less than
1,000 miles, so hearing yours lasted 27 years is heartening. My
frugality is at war with my fear of blowout while climbing I-80 on the
way to South Lake Tahoe this August.
