I was a customer for 20 years with them with no problems(but also no claims). However a year ago I called them to ask about casual use of my cars, such as stopping at a grocery store or restaurant when going to or returning from a car show. The lady said that this was not a covered activity so I may not be covered in event of a claim. Sounded to strict and vague to me as often I may wish to drive to my friends homes or off to the tennis courts. I have now switched to Hagerty. They seem to understand the collector car business and owners somewhat better. I also often will see them set up at large events such as Barrett Jackson with their hospitality booths where they encourage their clients to come in and have a place to rest. They also are sponsors of various classic auto related programming on TV channels. Not necessarily a recommendation for Hagerty and I would query American Collector to have them in writing give an exact policy on usage and coverage's.
