A little clarification, please. Your last post I received was Re: brake
booster. So, what is the post  Re: timing mark?

Extrapolating, 10 deg line would be a possible starting point for basic
timing check using a timing light at idle with distributor vacuum advance
hose disconnected and plugged. And, with the gas we have today, possible
combustion chamber carbon deposits and vehicle aging in general, 10 degrees
might be a bit stout. Detonation and back off in 2 deg steps and try again.
