RE: [Chrysler300] 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst running poorly - help !

After going through seemingly everything on my car a couple weeks ago, with
help from many club memebers, in an effort to figure out my problem I have a
few bits of advice to offer you.

Check to ensure you are getting adequate fuel to the carb.

Check to ensure your throttle pump is indeed working, squirting fuel when
pumped.

Check to ensure there are no loose wires inside the distributor.

Make sure you have adequate vacuum (no leaks) and your carb base gasket is
correct.

If the engine has been sitting and is original, I would expect the valves to
be stuck if it runs poorly. You will need to identify if that is a problem
or not. Under a load (in gear) the engine will not rev if only operating on
a few cylinders.

If you suspect a fuel delivery problem, try rigging up a gravity feed
container directly to your carb. This could rule out a lot of problems at
once such as bad fuel, clogged pickup filter, hole(s) in your delivery line,
bad connections, bad actuator rod etc.

Hope this helps. Ryan Hill
