[Chrysler300] 300F questions

While looking at Henry Hopkins 300F at BJ last week I
noticed a plate attached to the underside of the hood
covering the louvers. My car does not have this. Steve
Albu's car does not appear to have this. I have looked
at several engine bay photos on the site and see this
plate on some 300F's(Mona Steinbergs,Dan Reitz) but
not all.

Anybody know if this was an Early Production,vs late
production thing.
