Good Evening, Last Spring I was very fortunate to have bought a Black G convertible from a barn just south of Columbus, OH. I am trying to learn the history (past owners) of the car and hoping that some of the senior members of the club may know something of it. Gloria says that George Haycock, from Columbus, OH (who is now deceased) was shown as owning it while he was in the club from 1977 to 1980. Other than that only Charlie Henson (Who I bought the car from) has been shown as owning it, and Charlie was never a club member. Charlie tells me he bought it from a farmer in Southern Ohio in 1987. I haven't had any luck in tracking this farmer down yet. The car was sold new at Lerners Sales and Service in Rock Island, IL. I have spoken with the original sales person (Jim Sweet) who remembers the car in excruciating detail, including the person he ordered the car for, Dallaschlager (spelling?). He said that Dallaschlager didn't own the car very long but he didn't know where the car went as it wasn't traded back in at Lerners. The remnants of a West Virginia registration/inspection sticker is on the windshield. It is unknown what year. The car was painted green metallic (over black) that resembles the green that I had on a 1972 Charger SE a long time ago. It is loaded with every option except a PCV valve. Additionally, it has a Seat belts, Mirrormatic and Headlite dimmer. One unusual thing is that there are snaps (like for the convertible boot cover) down the inner left quarter trim piece and along the aluminum trim strip on the left side of the rear console. The car is rough, but complete (less hubcaps). I'm slowly starting on the restoration. I feel it must have some interesting stories to tell if I can find past owners. I appreciate any help you may be able to provide. Best regards, Richard Osborne 190 E.
