Re: [Chrysler300] Paint codes

A competent body shop will do 'spray outs' on Paint Test Panels, as Dupont calls them, showing different variations that they can mix up. Another factor is the light under which the spray outs are viewed. The body shop that painted my 58 Plymouth had a daylight corrected light for viewing these. You may consider sending the spray outs to Gil so that he can pick out the closest one.

Paint chips available at swap meets are notorious for being off a shade or

kind of exposure and therefore is a little closer to what it should be.

If you really want to check the color, paint a sample on a small clean piece of metal and mail it to Gil Cunningham, who has the official paint color chips from Chrysler. He will tell you whether it is off or not.
