RE: [Chrysler300] Rebodying Anyone - answer

John H.

Let me take your thoughts one step further: Would anyone strip parts from a
trashed letter car to complete a non letter car (this scenario in
reverse)??? It all about the $$$$$. No one will be making a Saratoga or New
Yorker out of this chassis....

Let's not forget what started this thread, and let's for a minute stay away
from hypothetical situations. In this particular instance, a person is
offering for sale a chassis, various parts and the VIN tag of a 300C
hardtop.

So - in your opinion, it's OK to buy this package of parts, go buy a solid
Windsor or Saratoga or New Yorker 2 door hardtop, strip it, remove its VIN
tag, install the 300C VIN tag on it, put it all back together with 300C
trim, and then look at people straight in the eye and say: "it's a real
300C" ?

Not in my opinion. What you would have, if you did the above, is a revinned
1957 Windsor or Saratoga or whatever. That body left the factory with a
different VIN tag on it than the one you would have installed.
