Mine had the same problem, could never "fill'r up." When the tank was pulled, there were many small rust holes, top of tank. Tank proved to be too weak for repair. Lucky to find a replacement after extensive search. There is a guy in downstate IL that can produce tanks, using yours to copy, yet this would not make for a concours replacement.
