Re: [Chrysler300] Replacement Battery

There is a Packard parts supply company that makes a hard rubber 6V case that holds the Optima battery within it that makes it look just like a tar top. If I had a '55-56, you KNOW what I'd be using.

Tony,
Is the battery from Antique Auto Battery a dry/gel inside a wet cell
looking case or a regular wet cell? I thought I saw a dry/gel encased
in a regular looking battery so it has the benefits of the Optima type
and appearance of a regular wet cell.

   Hi to all,

This thread occurred just in time. Just changed my order with Antique
Auto
Battery to a G27 Willard.

Please note that they normally make G24s in Willard but they can and
will
make up the G27 in a Willard model with red caps for 1960 with the same
arrangement of terminals as the Mopar battery.

Tony

Hi Tony and All:
The 300F AMA specs say "Autolite 12-H-70 and Willard HO-12-70" for the
battery specification. (Autolite is spelled that way, but we don't
think it
was so on the battery!! Maybe I better recheck the "Fun with Hyphens"
book,
eh Wayne?) Mopar is never mentioned in
the AMA
specs until 1963. Sooooo it seems like the most authentic battery
available
now is the Willard for our 300Fs.
300ly, Gil
