Terry: I don't have or know how to create a picture website, but perhaps they could be posted at the Club website for posterity. There seems to always seems to be a lot of interest in the old batteries and we do tend to rediscover the wheel here from time to time. I'd love to have a set of the .jpg's, especially of the Group 2 6-Voltas. Have you thought about making molds of the cases or just of the lettered panels? A cast panel that might be stuck to a modern 6-Volt black battery might be a good choice for many of us. Can you tell us more about the service station attendants' kits? I don't remember much other than the Voltmeter with the pointed probes that enabled testing each cell's voltage. I diagnosed a lot of failed batteries with that tool. I also used the hydrometer to check the density of the acid solution. Perhaps these were in the kits?? Along with battery lifting handles, terminal post cleaners and battery cable clamp wrenches and pullers? Maybe even safety goggles and rubber gloves?? (Naahh). Took some pictures today and would be happy to share if anyone has site to post them at. For what it is worth none of the items I have have a decal of any sort on them. they are molded and then the highlites painted in most cases. some bum actually painted over the whole Willard unit I have. the battery rack itself shows a battery style which is different than the NOS case I have. Just happened to think that vintage ads may shed some light on the affair also. Lots of times they picture the actual item being sold. Mechanics magazines would be the best hope I'd think. Anyway if anyone has a site to post them on I'll send some jpegs along.
