Someone mentioned finding replacement battery cables with #1 guage wire seemingly performing well for them. Several years ago I wanted to replace the batt cables in my 'hot-rod' truck, (hodge podge Dodge) I wanted to stay with the factory look for the cables, I had to hunt quite a bit in the aftermarket sources. The Average cable being sold was at best #4 guage wire. Number 4 wire will not carry the current a #1 guage wire will. (well it will but it will smoke shortly after trying to carry that much current) In general #1 wire will work real well for this application, I would consider #4 workable but marginal. But if you use #1, you probably ought to at least have Both Pos and Neg cables the same guage!!! -- Paul Holmgren 2 57 300-C's in Indy Hoosier Corps L#6 To send a message to this group, send an email to: Chrysler300@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx For list server instructions, go to http://www.chrysler300club.com/yahoolist/inst.htm Yahoo!
