  Sherwood,
Now I'm am glad that I campaigned for McGovern in '72! I was knocking on doors and slapping on bumper stickers for Geprge in upstate New York the summer of '72. The hardhats that I worked with during my summer job at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation always chided me stating that there were three things that you could be sure of in life:1. Death 2. Taxes and 3. McGovern not being elected! At least in California there was a 300 guy of the same persuasion. Thanks for the background on this fantastic (spelled it correct this time) white B. Rob et al:

I remember those license plates. The car belonged to the late K.C. Eberhard. KC was an officer of the WPC Club while I was president in the 70s and 80s. KC passed away in the early 90s as I recall. He traded that car to a Dodge dealer in Idaho for a new Dodge.

KC, as we all called him, was a real character -- in the nicest of sentiments. He was George McGovern's campaign chief in California in the presidential race with Nixon. It was the only state, as I recall, that McGovern won. Gil Cunningham can also explain -- as well as I can -- the "history" of the 300B article in the WPC News under KC's byline which was written by Gil. It was published under my regime and, ultimately, I was responsible for what happened.

KC also raised incredible sums of money for the State of Israel because of his wide contacts in industry in California.

    Yes, KC was a character...
