[Chrysler300] Air cleaner

Over the years I acquired a couple of air cleaners at a swap meet.  Definitely Mopar.  They look like a C air cleaner, except they have a large elliptical chamber between the filter element and the neck.  From what make and model are they??  What does the chamber do?  Silencer?  Was considering using it on my 392 since I am running one four barrel  for now.
