Hello 300'ly to all! The book IRON FIST makes fascinating reading for all who would like to better understand the Kiekhaefer saga. On page 251 there ia a reference made to a conversation between Tim Flock and Ray Doern of the Chrysler 300 Club regarding Tim's leaving NASCAR in 1954. What got Flock back into racing was watching a C300 go by on the sand and stating that he could win again in NASCAR if driving the C300. A major Kiekhaefer marine dealer over heard him and told Carl and the next day they were measuring the front seat to fit Tim in the C300. I take it that the Chrysler 300 Club is us and Ray Doern is an early member? Please enlighten me on this delightful literary notable mention.
