I have a Hallmark Brand 26" trailer w/ about 3000 miles, 1500 of the 3000 empty. The trailer came out of their Utah factory rolling on Mission Brand 225X15 radials, D Rated. All 4 of the Missions suffered thread separations. I learned Mission is a private label. I was directed to a company called Tireco in the LA basin for warranty replacements. It is not exactly a free ride considering the headaches and dangers of road failures the possible need to buy tires "on the open road" and the cost of mounting and balancing. The Missions were out of Taiwan, the replacements out of, you guessed it China. The replacements, Mileage Master labels. I was told the later is a different manufacture. If you have or had similar experiences, I would appreciate knowing the problem Brands and if and how you solved this problem. Louis Barrie did some investigating reaching the conclusion this is a universal problem with trailer tires. Coincidently as I was backed against the loading dock of Tireco exchanging tires, another truck pulled in to pickup a load. The driver wore a company shirt with the name Wahlberg (?)Trailer. In casual exchange I laminted my problems and he commented they have experienced many bad batches themselves including Goodyear Brand. I have wondered why the tires are labeled "For Trailer Use Only" on the sidewall. Are trailer tires of lesser quality? If so why isn't safety an issue?
