Re: [Chrysler300] Seat belts for a G

Hello Gil, Rick & all! I put in a set of seat belts for the fronts only, for my G around six months ago from 'The Paddock', which are tan, like the seats. Wasn't tan a possible color for seat belts at leaste for '61 as well as black!? I am aware that belts weren't from factory (only dealer installed), 'til '62. At the concours judging at Tahoe, I was only docked 1 point out of a possible 5 so I figured I might have been right with the color (don't want to get anyone in trouble here).
Well, on another note, I'll miss you all at Lawton, OK! Plans unfortunately changed for me but I'll be there in spirit!!
  Sincerely & 300ly, Brandt H. J. w/ a G.

          Hi Rick and All:
As you may know, factory seat belts were not available until optional
on the 300H. Later in the 1962 M.Y. they became standard equipment on
the "H", making it the first American car, as far as I know, to have
them standard. Of course, dealer installed belts were available in
previous years. All these early belts were black. When my 300F was on
the "spit" during its resto, I had seatbelt anchor/reinforcements
welded to the floor. There were dimples for location in the
floor----both front and rear. For the purposes of driving it to the
Asheville meet, I just bought a pair of seatbelts from Pep Boys. As
soon as I find something more authentic, I will transfer them to the
rear, probably. Snake Oyl is the name I associate with vintage seat
belts, and know some of the members have used them.
300ly, Gil Cunningham---visiting grandson in Buffalo,
NY at the moment.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Seat belts for a G

Bruce is picking up his G soon and realizes he needs front seat
belts. I looked
up the part numbers on PartsVoice and found that NOS ones are
unobtainium. What
have you G or F or H owners done for seatbelts? and what color are they
supposed
to be? Who is a good aftermarket supplier and where are the belts
anchored?

Thanks,
Rick Ehrmann
