Hi Ken and All: I don't know if anyone answered your spring leaf question, but didn't see it on the listserver, at any rate. The 300H has six leaves, convert or hardtop, rt. or left. The spring rate is 125 lbs/in (160 at the wheel). Since these specifications are the same as the Newport station wagon, I suspect the springs might be the same. On the rear seatbelt question both you and Fern had---I am not sure I can be of too much help, other than to say I have put anchors in both my "H" convert and "F" convert. The "H" was done so long ago (35 years or so) that I don't remember how I located them. I suspect so that I could route them under the plywood. On the 300F, much more recently, I found dimples in the floor pan that I assumed were for the purpose of seat belt anchor location, so utilized them. Since I haven't installed the actual rear seatbelts yet, I can't say how that will work out. Will have to be done pretty soon, though. On your 300Hs, I think I would try to find the dimples and use them. Hopefully, by 1962 some design work went into the prefered location of the rear anchors. Hope this helps a little. 300ly, Gil Cunningham Tallahassee, FL (Hoping for a bit of rain today!) I assembled 7 leafs, both sides, but the front clamp band, of one reassembled spring (I took spring apart so many years ago along with others that I do not remember the assembly or if I got all the leaf count), was still loose so I stuck a short 12" half leaf to fill the band. I stuck this (now 8 leaf count) spring on the right side. The other spring, in which the clamp band was fully filled with just 7 leafs, - I installed on the left side. Today I installed the freshly restored rear axial but holding off tighten it untill I hear some comments.
