Good morning, While driving the G back from Carlisle, I began to notice an odor of gasoline. This was after driving perhaps 150 miles. Due to tire problems which Tom Miiller was having with his C, we pulled over to check out his car on the turnpike. When finished, I popped the hood on the G to find a rather serious stream of gasoline running from the fuel line going into the left side carb. It was coming from the line, not the brass fitting into the carb. This seems odd to me as I drive it a lot around town. I drove it 350 miles plus to Carlisle and didn't notice anything. Anyways, the fitting on the line was too rounded to use the open end of the wrench. I took the line off and slid the box end over the line and was able to get it tight enough where it stopped dripping, was only damp. The line is stainless, I am going to have that line re-made. I assume it no longer seats due to the number of times it has been off. Why didn't it leak when I first started the car? Why could I not get it tight enough to stop entirely? Could the brass fitting be damaged? Best regards, Richard Osborne ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Yahoo! Groups gets a make over.
